Getting Started

Tang Math Fluency Tournaments are free math contests open to all students in grades K–5. Solve as many puzzles as you can before the tournament window closes — on your own, or together as a class.

Signing up is free and generates the access code your students need to play.

How It Works

  1. Get an access code. Students with a Tang Math account can log in and start playing right away. Everyone else just needs an access code from their teacher or parent. Teachers and parents find their code in account settings — one is generated automatically when you create a free account.
  2. Enter the code and pick a grade level. On the tournament page, press Play, type in the access code, and choose a grade. The puzzles are matched to that grade level.
  3. Solve puzzles and earn points. Every puzzle solved earns 1 point. Progress saves automatically, so students can stop at any time and pick back up whenever they want.
  4. Follow the leaderboard. Scores update daily on the global leaderboard. When the tournament ends, teachers and parents can print completion certificates for their students.
